The Candidate should be at least 25 years of age and under 50 years.

The Candidate should have at least five O'Levels or CXC passes including English Language.

The Candidate should have the ability to express himself/herself clearly in both formal and informal settings and to extract information effectively.

The Candidate should be ambitious and self -confident, and be prepared to participate in training programmes conducted by the Company.

The Candidate should show a history of success in past undertakings/employment and should have earned a minimum of $30,000 annually.

The Candidate should be free from personal financial problems.

The Candidate should demonstrate the ability to take charge of a situation, instill confidence and thereby motivate action.

The Candidate should have the ability to perceive other people's needs, points of view and problems and to respond appropriately to them. This involves listening effectively, maintaining emotional control and presenting effective counter arguments without criticizing or threatening others.

The Candidate should be prepared to improve his/her professional standing through continued education. In this regard, completion of the LUATT Parts I and II programmes in the basics of selling skills should be achieved within three years by any person who seriously considers a career in the industry. This should be followed by preparation for the CLU in the fifth or sixth year. Membership in professional organizations such as LUATT and GAMATT and regular attendance at sales congresses, both local and overseas, together with subscriptions to insurance periodicals would enhance his/her career development. He/she should aspire to become a member of the Company's Leaders' Club and the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) from the second or third year of entry into the industry. Achievement of the latter should be considered one of the high points of his/her career. Maintenance of a high persistency rating by faithful service to clients should be considered as a serious responsibility.

The Candidate should have an outgoing personality and the ability to deal comfortably with different levels of society.

The Candidate should hold membership in community and/or national organizations.

The Candidate should own insurance.

The Candidate should have the ability to set realistic goals and channel his/her efforts towards their achievement.

The Candidate should be able to contribute positively to the culture and objectives of the Agency to which he/she is recruited.

The Candidate should either own a car or plan to do so within a short time.

The Candidate should be one who is seeking a career in life insurance and not just looking for a job.

The Candidate should be one who can be relied upon to conduct his business in an ethical, moral and honest manner while respecting the confidentiality of privileged information.

The Candidate should show an aptitude for the business of life insurance as evidenced by his/her willingness and ability to work on his/her own without close supervision, reliance on others or dependence on standardized procedures.
